The Regional Fundraising Co-ordinator will assist in thedevelopment of the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> All Island Fundraising Programme and implement theprogramme locally in their region. Working out of the regional office, the successful candidatewill report centrally to the Fundraising & Sponsorship Manager but work very closely with therelevant Regional Director on a day-to-day operational basis.Skills & Experience:• Minimum 2 years Fundraising and or Sales experience and a proven ability to successfullyreach targets for organisations preferably in the not-for-profit sector.• Excellent organisational and creative skills with ability to work on own initiative but also aspart of the team• Proven track record in Event Management and Business Development• Strong communication skills with ability to persuade and negotiate with various groups• Established corporate and social working relationships and contacts in the relevant region thatmay provide avenues of or access to support for <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong>.• A current full clean driving licence and access to a form of transport that enables them tomeet the requirements of the post in full is essential. It is also essential to be able to meet arequirement to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends & to beprepared to travel frequently as part of the role.Key Areas of Responsibility:• Plan and manage the Fundraising Programme for the specific region• Foster and develop regional and/or local corporate sponsor relationships and agreements inline with the organisation’s overall Sponsorship Programme• Communicate and consult regularly with regional staff members, the Regional Committeeand other relevant key volunteers and stakeholders so as to achieve a cohesive andcoordinated and supported approach to all activities• Establish and nurture strong working relationships and communication lines with <strong>Special</strong><strong>Olympics</strong> Clubs in the region in conjunction and cooperation with other regional staff andvolunteers


• Motivate and engage regional volunteers to help plan and manage the fundraising initiatives• Establish regular <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> fundraising initiatives in the region• As a member of the Marketing, Communications & Fundraising (MCF) Department,contribute and assist with the planning and development of the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong>’ AllIsland Fundraising Programme initiatives to achieve the organisation’s income target• Be responsible for implementation of the income generation initiatives and achievement ofthe income targets within the assigned region in conjunction with the Regional Director• Plan and implement the <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> <strong>Ireland</strong> Annual Collection Day in the region• Provide assistance and guidance to companies who express interest and/or give acommitment to fundraise for the organisation• Record regularly and accurately financial and fundraising data• Apply high standards of organisation and planning in all fundraising and other events so tomaintain and protect the organisation’s reputation and to ensure the opportunity tomaximise income is created• Work with the MCF department and Regional Director to promote and maintain brandawareness of <strong>Special</strong> <strong>Olympics</strong> <strong>Ireland</strong>• Participate in cross-functional training as required from time to time• Any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Director or other officer asappointed by the Chief Executive Officer.We are interested in your answers to the following question(s).
