As of 1 August 2002, <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> will fully replace all previous volume licensingupgrade paths, offering an efficient way to stay current with the latest software technology.This means that, if you’re not using the most current <strong>Microsoft</strong> server software and have been thinking ofupgrading to the latest version, now is the time to contact your <strong>Microsoft</strong> Certified Partner: As of 1 August 2002,volume licensing customers who are not enrolled in Upgrade Advantage or <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> and who wish toupgrade will need to buy new full version licenses.Make the most of your IT investment with the latest <strong>Microsoft</strong> Servers.Enrolling a <strong>Microsoft</strong> software license in Upgrade Advantage for your servers will benefit your organisation since itwill ensure your conversion to <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong>. <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> will entitle you to receive any futureversions that are released while your <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong> coverage remains active. (A <strong>Software</strong> <strong>Assurance</strong>coverage period runs for two years or until the expiration of your Open License Authorisation Number, whichevercomes first.)You should note that, while <strong>Microsoft</strong> always widely publicises upgrades, <strong>Microsoft</strong> does not pro-actively notify allusers of a product that an upgrade for a particular product is available.
