As of 1 August 2002, Software Assurance will fully replace all previous volume licensingupgrade paths, offering an efficient way to stay current with the latest software technology.This means that, if you’re not using the most current Microsoft server software and have been thinking ofupgrading to the latest version, now is the time to contact your Microsoft Certified Partner: As of 1 August 2002,volume licensing customers who are not enrolled in Upgrade Advantage or Software Assurance and who wish toupgrade will need to buy new full version licenses.Make the most of your IT investment with the latest Microsoft Servers.Enrolling a Microsoft software license in Upgrade Advantage for your servers will benefit your organisation since itwill ensure your conversion to Software Assurance. Software Assurance will entitle you to receive any futureversions that are released while your Software Assurance coverage remains active. (A Software Assurancecoverage period runs for two years or until the expiration of your Open License Authorisation Number, whichevercomes first.)You should note that, while Microsoft always widely publicises upgrades, Microsoft does not pro-actively notify allusers of a product that an upgrade for a particular product is available.
