Theexperimental results showed that calcium carbonate particles were converted rapidly into hydroxyapatite after microwave treatment for15 min. The composition of phosphoration solution has strong effect on the morphology and crystallization of the product.Hydroxyapatite with different spherical structures of fuzzy or fine particles aggregated morphologies were obtained under differentconditions.Key words: calcium carbonate; phosphoration; hydroxyapatite; microwave heating
