Mellen-Thomas Benedict’s Near-Death ExperienceSo it was a very quiet ride on the way home. But I had met, through a friend, a woman named Susan. Afew days later she called me. And she explained she hadhospice training and that she was going to be in a situationfor the next year to be my hospice caretaker. This was a window of opportunity; and she explained to mewhat hospice was, and where we could go, and where shecould do this. And within two weeks I was packed up andliving in a completely different location and moved in to thehome that we turned into a hospice. And that’s where I livedout my days.Susan was an absolute angel who just appeared suddenlyin my life. There was only one problem with that though, once I got there. And that was that, I didn’t realise thatshe was a Christian, and I was not. She was a very niceChristian girl. She wasn’t preachy or anything, but she wasvery concerned about me.She took very good care of me but she would ask me tooccasionally pray with her. And I wouldn’t do it. It wouldmake me angry. So I was not a happy camper.I was probably not the best person to have in a hospicesituation.I blamed everybody, including aGod I didn’t believe in.© Mellen-Thomas Benedict 2008 • 13 • & Angela Treat Lyon 2008Mellen-Thomas.com • All rights reserved • Protected Internationally • EFTBooks.com
