That mule is currently‘doing time’ in a pack string in Wyoming.We have since revamped our equineinventory from horses and mules toreflect our senior status as trail riders.Our pasture now is inhabited by moremature minded, sensible and less reactivemammoth donkeys. Otherwise, we haveno big accomplishments to report. Justcontentedly retired on our little farm withour donkeys, chickens, dogs, and cats, anddoling out love, support and occasional(hopefully) wisdom to our three kids andfive grandkids. Dave worked at MGIC inMilwaukee for 30 years and Pat workedas a horse trainer, riding instructor, USPSrural carrier sub, waitress, owned a smallInternet business (www.themulestore.com which sold in 2007), and also as aveterinary technician for 25 years. Patfinally discovered what she wants to dowhen she grows up……retire! She stillplays flute with the Hartland CommunityBand. My dad, Henry Busche, professorof music at <strong>MacMurray</strong> for 33 years,passed away in 2007, but I still feel hispresence from time to time, especiallywhen playing the flute.
