PINK POSTAL STATIONERY ENVELOPEPlate Ib1022 HF, good to large margins all round, tied by black Maltese Cross cancellation, leaving theQueen’s profile clear, on a 1d. pink postal stationery envelope, addressed to Cambleton,dated 3 July 1841, “T.P/S. Audley St.” marking alongside, on reverse circular“JY 30/1841” and red framed “CAMBLETON/AU 3/1841”. A long, cross-written note by therecipient additionally ties the Penny Black; a small split at the lower-left of the envelopehas been backed up by a piece of paper, fine. Penny Blacks used on 1d. pink postal stationeryenvelopes are of the utmost rarity, far more so than when used on Mulreadys.
