If you want to explain any of your answers please give details below.Sometimes there is a little too much homeworkThis is a lovely school with good values & intentions. Unfortunately, I feel that it is slightlylet down by some very disruptive lessons. There are a few teachers who are not good &are unable to deal effectively with disruptive pupils, this effects the learning in theselessonsI feel that my daughter has a lot of homework for her age. At the moment she is working on3 projects and still gets more homework from other subjects. As a conscientiousWorker she doesn’t want to rush the work sometimes finding it difficult to have some ‘downtime’.We are very pleased with the school over the last 7 yearsI feel that some of the homework is very hard and even I struggle to help, but the level ofhomework is about right (Year 7).When hot in Summer – be more thoughtful how hot the pupils get!Government should provide more finance to increase school’s staffing & facilities for allschools. There appears to be some inconsistency how disruptive pupils are dealt with.I chose Bishop Fox’s over my catchment school as I felt my child would be best supportedhere. I have not been disappointed. The homework projects are way too much and causes a lot of stress to my child. Teacher xdoesn’t always solve problems even though she says she will.Good school – keep up the good workSince starting at the school, my daughter has come on in leaps and bounds, made newfriends and made such an improvement in Maths and really enjoying the lessons. Glad wechose this school. This is not our local school so it was a choice to bring our children to Fox’s. Not somethingwe would do if we didn’t feel it was a very good school. My child has settled very well at this school and has been made to feel very welcomeWe moved our Year 11 daughter to Fox’s in Year 8 and we have never regretted it for aminuteWe couldn’t be more pleased with how staff have helped our son to settle in and to dealwith issues. They have been handled sensitively, promptly & appropriately. The rewardsscheme is a real motivator for the pupils encouraging them to take responsibility for theirown learning. Communication with parents is great – events/trips/meetings are knownabout well in advance & account is taken of the fact that working parents can’t always do4pm. A big thanks & thumbs-up!I do feel Year 7 has far more homework than they need, and I don’t feel this makes themany more productive, and often it’s as though the teachers don’t mark what they have set orgive feedback of any kind on the homeworkMy daughter only started in September so is still finding her feet, although she seems fairlysettled. While the majority of classes are taught well, there appear to be a couple which shefeels could be improved on. We have not really had any concerns but all queries have beenanswered.Inappropriate amounts of homework issued. Children should have downtime when they gethome from school, have time to help with household chores & be in bed at a reasonabletime. This also goes for the weekend. Family life should not have to revolve around thehomework timetable.Happy with the school but general lack of communication between school & home esp.when they start in Year 7. Discipline however is directed at a whole class instead ofindividuals, which has proved very disheartening for my son.

My eldest child transferred from another secondary school because she was notprogressing. Since coming to Bishop Fox’s she has come on in leaps and bounds andwe cannot speak too highly of the school. Our youngest child has now started here andis very happy and doing well. Thank you.I cannot praise the school highly enough, they have done everything they say they willin their prospectus. They have given my child confidence in her work and she is makingexcellent progress. Most importantly she feels secure, knows she will be listened to andshe looks forward to attending each day.My daughter went to Courtfields initially but her grades & teaching skills were awful.Since transferring to Bishop Fox’s her grades have improved significantly. ExcellentSchool! (very pleased parent)Recently our 14 year old daughter went through a difficult and emotional time and wasable to access the schools counselling service. This was a positive experience thatenabled her to maintain her motivation with her studies. We would like to express ourthanks to the school for this excellent service and the support she received.
