FDT Cassette ‘8 series’FDT Cassette RangeThe MITSUBISHI Cassette range hasbeen designed by engineers forengineers. It offers all the featuresexpected of a high specificationproduct range, and is made to thehighest quality standards at theMITSUBISHI factory at Nagoya, Japan. The construction is a one piece body- a manufacturing process perfectedby MHI, in conjuction with MitsubishiPlastics - where the insulationenclosure is moulded on to the sheetmetal casing in one operation in theproduction process. The result is alightweight, tight, low noise unit, withall the component fixings an integralpart of the plastics moulding.Slimmest Height215mm ‘probably’ the slimmestcassette on the market. This is theheight dimension of the FDT208cassette. This advanced technologywas made possible by thedevelopment of a new circular shapedheat exchanger, resulting in thepressure drop inside the unit beingkept to a minimum.Space CollarsWhere ceiling void space is restricted,it is possible to semi-recess thecassette using a Space Collar toprovide a neat decorative finish tothe installation. Space Collars areavailable in various heights, to bespecified at the time of ordering.Clean FinishThe colour of the cassette fasciais grey/white, designed to matchhigh specification ceilings in moderncommercial buildings. The turningvanes are manufactured from highdensity plastic, much easier to cleancompared to units with flock coatedvanes. In addition, the "anti-smudge"air outlet reduces the dirt depositswhich often collect on the ceilingadjacent to the fascia panel.Group & MULTI SystemsThe FDT can be installed as a singlesystem, with individual control, orwith one controller for a Group ofunits (up to 16). This feature is usefulfor shops and open plan areas. TheGroup Control arrangement includessequential starting of compressors. There is also the possibility ofinstalling twin/triple/quad cassetteson to one outdoor unit, reducingequipment costs and installationcosts. Please see The FD MULTI serieson Page 8.Remote ControlThe RCD wired remote control is afull function controller, with the optionof eliminating various displays toprovide the client with a 'SimplifiedControl' if required. Two controllerscan be used as a 'Master/Slave'arrangement.Alternative SensorThe RCD includes an additionaltemperature sensor, which can beused as an alternative to the unit'sreturn air sensor. This is especiallyuseful where several units aregrouped together, or for multi-splitinstallations.One
