• On April 15th of this
year I was involved in
an accident on
Anderson Drive in
Quesnel This is just
everyday news.
Ht)Wever. as I had hit the
Moffal Bridge abutment on
the right side going east after
being cut off by a speeding
driver who passed me on the
right, 1 vvas .severely hit by the
steering whctil t>f my car even
though I had my scat belt on.
I understand there was a
lady who was kind enough to
try to help by stopping the
other driver and gettingjherr
license number even though
they sped away. 1 would sincerely
like lo thank this pcrs»in

people who would try lo help.
When the ambulance and
[lolice arrived on the scene 1
will say that they were quite
nice and very concerned.
The di>ctor who sewed up
m\ lip was also very kind.
However, as I was smashed
so hard in the chest by the
steering wheel I was in terrible
pain, .
I was released without so
much as an x-ray on either my
J4W, left hand or especially my
chest..A couple of days later I
was back to the hospital where
they seemed to think I was
Jine. On Monday I passed
some blood and phone them. I
w.is told to see my doctor the
next day, he gave me some
pills for an ulcer
The whole point of this
stor\ is that I feel that .s*>me of
the nurses and doctors on duty
were very hi>stilc to me as
though I was ccmiplaining over
nothing. I do not understand
why 1 was not kept overnight
for vibscrvation or givtrn x-rays
al ihe time of^the accidcnl. I
feel 1 could have went home
and passible bled to death and
it was as though no one
seemed to care. This was also
an I.C B.C." claim. They are
finally going to x-ray my chesi
6 days later. Certain people in
the hospital know that I was
almost killed 5 years ago. That
I couldn't afford to be over^
looked.
Would it be possible that
as I am no longer able to work
40 hours a week that I do not
mailer anymore.
After all the renovations at
(;.R Baker hospital, it seems
that there is less help now
then there used to be. I do
know all about cut-backs and
the recession wc arc going
through today but 1 feel the
health care of people is way
less than it used to be.
Perhaps nurses and doctors
have to work long hours at
times but I do not believe anyone
working in a hospital
should bring their problems to
work with them. I believe they
should^be kind and considerate
as much as pos&ible to the
patients. After all, is that not
why they wanted to be doctors
and nurses. Or is it that money
means more than life today.
I always believe that one
person is the same as the next
no matter their position iii life.
And then they wonder why
I am angry. Certainly not every
nurse and doctor is always this
way. I know some very compassionate
people at the hospital.
Perhaps 1 have not always
betn at my best either. But
today I try to do my best •
