Differences were alsoobserved among Kilwa forest types(Kruskal Wallis χ 2 = 12.487, df = 2; p =0.002; Mitundumbeya and Mitaluleforests, median tree diameter = 30 cm) andamong Handeni forest types (KruskalWallis χ 2 = 25.686, df = 2; p = 0.001;Gumba forest median tree diameter = 27cm). Moreover, tree diameter wassignificantly different (Kruskal Wallis χ 2 =8.994, df = 2; p = 0.011; median dbh =17.6 cm) across the study sites with treesin Kilosa miombo forest showing overalllargest median diameter at breast height(median dbh= 105 cm).Figure 1.Species diversity in forest localities in the three study sites.
