Thanksgiving Dinnersfor the NeedySign-up’s November 6th and 7thChristmas 2010ADOPT-A-FAMILYCorpus Christi will be working with ResurrectionParish again this year to provide ThanksgivingDinners for 125 of the needy families in our immediatearea.A list of grocery items to be purchased is provided.All you have to do is buy the groceries anddeliver them to Resurrection Parish on November20th. YOU CAN HELP!For the past several years we have provided this holidaycheer to our “sister” parish, Corpus Christi CatholicChurch in Chicago. Sr. Marilyn has provided us names offamilies in need of our assistance.This year we will have over 100 families from our“sister” parish in the city and several more familiesfrom the St. Vincent de Paul list of needy families.Adopting one of these families is a beautiful way to makeChristmas special for someone less fortunate than we are.It is also a way to share all the blessings that the Lord hasbestowed on us and truly give in the spirit of ChristmasThe Corpus Christi St. Vincent DePaul Society will becoordinating the sign up of families, the collection of giftsSign up will be after every mass onNovember 6th and 7th and, if needed, November13th and 14th. Selection will be ona first come, first serve basis.All gifts need to be turned in before mass the weekendof December 5 th & 6 th .Remember, if you do not feel that you can provide for anentire family by yourself, you might be able to pitch inwith another family and friends to make it happen. This isa wonderful way to make your holidays more meaningful.Thank you in advance for your generosity to these familiesin the challenging economic times we are all experiencing.
