We will requiredocumentary evidence of your new address.Can I tell you my reason for wanting aparticular school?Yes you can but we can only considerinformation directly related <strong>to</strong> your applicationwhere it means that you qualify under anadmission rule. We cannot use any otherinformation <strong>to</strong> increase your priority for a schoolplace.Do I have <strong>to</strong> apply for a school in my area?I live in <strong>Newcastle</strong> but I want a schooloutside <strong>Newcastle</strong> – can I do this?You can apply on our application form for anyschool in any local authority. You are advised <strong>to</strong>read each school's admission criteria carefullyas different <strong>schools</strong> and local authorities mayhave different arrangements.If the school you are interested in is popular,the admissions criteria will give you a realisticidea of your child's chances of getting a placethere.We do not co-ordinate our admissionarrangements with independent <strong>schools</strong> or <strong>City</strong>Technology Colleges, for example EmmanuelCollege. You should apply <strong>to</strong> these <strong>schools</strong>directly.All applications we receive will be consideredon the same basis regardless of where theparent lives.What happens in a tie-break situation ifthere are two equal rights but only oneavailable place?In the event that two children have an equalright <strong>to</strong> one available place (such as twins) theplace will be offered <strong>to</strong> the older child. Theremaining child will be offered an alternativeschool.
