The flexibility and high quality offered by AC2000 AE is a key factorin its suitability for the airport environment. The system offers airport-specificaccess control and can be customised to meet the unique needs of each airportwith new functionality added as airport security needs change over time.SYSTEM FEATURES• Highly stable Unix or Linuxoperating system• Web interface to CDC serverfor remote diagnostics andreporting• Distributed intelligencefor central and remoteconfiguration• Virtually unlimitedexpansion• Intelligent, multi technologycard readers with onboarddatabase• Supports Ethernet-readycontrollers and readers• Airport specific software• Unlimited user definablefields• Windows® based operatorworkstations• Failover & Automatic Serverbackup and archive• Supports CEM portable handheld readers• ODBC Compliant• Web browser remotediagnostics of controllers• Seamless integration withExternal Systems; CCTV, DVR,Intercom, Intruder Alarm,Iris BiometricsCEM can do this by designing andmanufacturing both the hardwareand system software to ensure that atotally integrated solution is providedwhich is integral to the overall securitymanagement of the airport.Advanced access control for missioncritical airportsThe CEM range of intelligent card readersoffer advanced access control at securepoints throughout airports, controllingairside and landside boundaries, gates,Air Traffic Control Towers and associatedremote buildings. With an internaldatabase, readers can validate cards andstore transactions when offline, ensuringzero system downtime and a fullyoperational airport environment. With a keypad feature for additionalPIN security and an LCD display, messages such as Access Denied andLost/Stolen Card are easily displayed.Reader messages can optionally betranslated into the native language usedat each airport. The unique CEMS3020 portablehand held readerprovides a quickway of providinga temporarycheck point forrandom securityspotchecks or forexternal areaswere cablingcannot be placed.Airport Specific Door ModesThe CEM advanced card readers featureairport specific door modes such as:• Passenger• Equipment Enable• Trolley• Airbridge ModeIdeal for the airport environment, these reader modes control doors andexternal equipment to enhance theoverall efficiency of airport operationsand passenger throughput. For exampleto control baggage belts, check-indesks and control and monitor highmaintenance airbridges. Using a suite of extended, comprehensive operational applications and by seamlessly integrating with thirdparty external systems, AC2000 AE provides a fully integrated solution. The systemhas been used by clients to help airports run more efficiently in terms of bothcost and operations. Using the AC2000 AE system data for sophisticated reportingpurposes, airports can reduce costs without compromising security.AC2000 AEOPERATIONal APPLICATIONS...• Check-In Desk Enabling• Luggage Carousel Enabling• Passenger Segregation• Airbridge Monitoring System• Passenger Reconciliation• Panic Button Facility• Taxi Management• Vehicles Management• Contractors Module• Direct Link to Airport Invoicing• Card Parking Facility• Airport Link• Equipment Enable• Visitor ManagementPassenger SegregationAC2000 AE allows the airport or airlineto segregate arriving and departingpassengers by using CEM card readers. The card readers are interlocked sothat if one reader is in Passenger mode(for multiple throughput) the othercan only be put in Staff mode (forindividual entry).Taxi ManagementTo ensure fair allocation of taxis atairport’s, authorised drivers swipe ata reader to indicate their arrival time.Booking software in the taxi office canthen designate an assignment and sendnotification to the driver and passengervia a screen at the taxi rank.

CEM/B/007 Rev FCheck-In Desk EnablingThis module provides control of andreporting on shared check-in desks.CEM card readers can be used to enable/disable check-in desks or luggagecarousels and provide data on equipmentusage by means of an operator swipinga valid card. The system can provide areport on check-in desk usage which canbe sent to the finance system used toinvoice airlines for their use of thecheck-in desk.Airbridge Monitoring SystemThe Airbridge Monitoring System isused to provide control over the use ofairbridges ensuring that only authorisedand trained personnel can use them. CEMcard readers installed at each airbridgeensure that operators must use a validcard before it can be used. The systemdisplays the status of each airbridge ona graphical display and provides data foradvanced reporting. The system enablesairports to reduce maintenance costsassociated with airbridges, such as faultsand charge airlines for their use.Vehicle ManagementThe Vehicle Management Module providesa means to ensure that only authorisedpassengers within a vehicle, e.g. carsand buses, can pass a control point.AC2000 Vehicles also provides the abilityto monitor and report on vehicle usagewithin an area such as a car park, identifying when maximum managementmodule levels are reached as well asreporting on vehicle usage patterns.Equipment EnableUsing Equipment Enable feature on CEMcard readers, all equipment throughoutthe airport can be controlled andmonitored for cost efficiency purposes. For example escalators, heat curtains andfixed electrical equipment can be enabledwhen required and automatically shutdown for energy conservation.Airport LinkAirports that are owned by the sameoperator can be linked and networkedupon request, allowing valid cardholdersto go from one airport to another.CEM Systems Ltd195 Airport Road WestBelfastBT3 9EDNorthern IrelandAC2000 AE System TopologyTel: +44 (0)28 9045 6767Fax: +44 (0)28 9045 4535email: cem.sales@tycoint.com
