Accreditation: <strong>Breast</strong> <strong>Imaging</strong>The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (<strong>UCSF</strong>) is accreditedby the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to providecontinuing medical education for physicians.<strong>UCSF</strong> designates this educational activity for a maximum of 20 AMA PRACategory 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with theextent of their participation in the activity.These continuing medical education hours also satisfy FDA requirements formammography education (under the Mammography Quality Standards Act) as follows:20 Category 1 Credits for mammography including 1.75 Category 1 Credits for digitalmammography. The hours also can be applied to voluntary ACR accreditation programsas follows: 2.25 Category 1 Credit for breast MRI; 1.5 Category 1 Credit for breastultrasound, and 0.5 Category 1 Credit for stereotactic-guided biopsy. Registrants willreview 20 mammography cases.TECHNOLOGISTSThis activity is pending approval for Category ACredits by the American Society of RadiologicTechnologists (ASRT).NURSESThe California Board of Registered Nursingaccepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits towardlicense renewal. On the BRN license renewalform, report the number of hours you attended(up to 20 hours of credit) and fill in “CMECategory 1” for the provider number.PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTSThe National Commission on Certification ofPhysician Assistants (NCCPA) states that AMAPRA Category 1 Credits are acceptable forcontinuing medical education requirements forrecertification.This educational activity meets the requirement under California State Assembly Bill 1195,continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.5
