The SE 28 consistsof mature, predominantly aspen forest with somewhite spruce and two irregular shaped hay fields,which are being allowed to revert naturally.Beartrap Lake contains northern pike and perch.The lake can be accessed by foot through theconservation site and by boat on the east side ofthe lake at a municipal campground. Wildlife foundin the area includes white-tailed and mule deer,moose, black bear, grouse, waterfowl, raptors and avariety of small mammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only. No open fires. The northend of NW 21 is private land and is not part of theproperty.Partners: ACA, ASRDQuarter Sections: NW-21-060-04-W4M, SE-28-060-04-W4MNE8Beaumont Pond –Enhanced Fish StockingProperty Details: The pond is located southeast ofEdmonton. From Highway 2, head east through thetown of Nisku on Highway 625 for 8 km. Turn northinto the town of Beaumont and take the first left(west) at 43 Ave. Follow the signs past the highschool to the Four Seasons Park. Approximately3,000 rainbow trout are released between April 15and May 16 at this site to enhance anglingopportunities.Restrictions: Refer to the <strong>Alberta</strong> Guide toSportfishing Regulations. Release dates areweather dependant.Partners: ACA, ASRDNE5Battle River RidgeProperty Details: This property is locatedapproximately 18 km north of Wainwright. TakeHighway 41 north for 17 km and then turn east for1 km. The property is located south of the maincounty road that runs along the northern side ofthe quarter. This property is typical of aspenparkland with forested areas, coulees and nativerange. Wildlife found in the area includes whitetailedand mule deer, moose, grouse and a varietyof small mammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only. No open fires.Foot access only.Partners: ACAQuarter Sections: NW-28-046-06-W4MNE6Batty LakeProperty Details: This property is locatedapproximately 7 km southwest of Ashmont. TakeHighway 28 south for 3.5 km, then turn west for 1.6km. The property consists of mature aspen forestwith some grasslands and wetlands interspersed.Wildlife found in the area includes white-tailed andmule deer, moose, grouse and a variety of smallmammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only. No open fires. Foot accessonly. A 16 acre subdivision in the northwest cornerof the property is private land and is not a part ofthe Batty Lake property.Partners: ACA, DUCQuarter Sections: NE-08-059-11-W4MNE7Beartrap LakeProperty Details: This property is locatedapproximately 19 km southeast of Bonnyville.Take Highway 659 east to 657. Turn south onHighway 657 for 6.6 km, then turn east 4.0 km. Thisproperty is made up of two quarter sectionslocated kitty corner to each other. The NW 21consists of a small abandoned field which isregrowing to aspen with a dense, mature aspenDave FairlessNE9Beaverhill LakeProperty Details: This property is located 11 kmeast of Tofield on Highway 626. It offers acombination of wetland and upland habitat.Wildlife found in the area includes white-tailedand mule deer, moose, grouse, waterfowl,shorebirds and a variety of small mammals andsongbirds. Grazing dispositions with accessrestrictions cover portions of the property. Pleasenote the portion of SE 5 which lies south of a linedrawn from the SW to NE corner of the quarter isprivate land and not part of this property.Restrictions: Day use only. No open fires. Footaccess only. Access restrictions apply. Huntingrestrictions apply to Beaverhill Lake andsurrounding land. Please consult the <strong>Alberta</strong>Guide to Hunting Regulations.
