The SE 28 consistsof mature, predominantly aspen forest with somewhite spruce and two irregular shaped hay fields,which are being allowed to revert naturally.Beartrap Lake contains northern pike and perch.The lake can be accessed by foot through theconservation site and by boat on the east side ofthe lake at a municipal campground. Wildlife foundin the area includes white-tailed and mule deer,moose, black bear, grouse, waterfowl, raptors and avariety of small mammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only. No open fires. From Highway 2, head east through thetown of Nisku on Highway 625 for 8 km. Turn northinto the town of Beaumont and take the first left(west) at 43 Ave. Follow the signs past the highschool to the Four Seasons Park. Approximately3,000 rainbow trout are released between April 15and May 16 at this site to enhance anglingopportunities.Restrictions: Refer to the Alberta Guide toSportfishing Regulations. Wildlife found in the area includes whitetailedand mule deer, moose, grouse and a varietyof small mammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only.
