The 727 Air Dominicana bore 14 enthusiasticBMA students and 3 staff across theblue-green caribbean to her home island.Their enthusiasm waned slightly upon arrivalat their primitive accommodations,but courage and determination stayedstrong. Adapting to life with the lizards,spiders, and the outhouse wasn't easy forthe Americanos and fever, nausea, and "thetrots" plagued their first weekend. However,they bounced back, picked up theirtools, crammed into the little red pickupand went back to work. The sun came downand the walls went up, and the church inCotui took shape.73
