About the
culinary expert
Innovation with flavours is the insignia of Chef NG
Siewchoy, who is the now, the new dimsum chef at
Taipan. And much to the pleasure of food
enthusiasts, he makes many thoughtful and
delectable additions to the menu. Chef Choy has
diverse culinary experience which spans over
fourteen years. When he isn’t cooking up a storm
in the kitchen, he likes to go out dining and
shopping. His work ambit boasts of many
renowned international hotels and restaurants. An
expert with Dim sum meals, Chef Choy’s signature
preparations leave an indelible imprint on the taste
buds.
Dim Sum is usually linked with the older tradition of Yum Cha (drinking tea), which has its roots in travelers on the ancient Silk
Road needing a place to rest. Thus teahouses were established along the roadside. Rural farmers, exhausted after working hard
in the fields, would go to teahouses for a relaxing afternoon of tea and Dim sum as snacks.
Royal Salute 21 pays
a Scottish tribute to
the Oberoi, New Delhi
One of the jewels in the Chivas crown, Royal Salute 21 is the true blue royal of Scotch whisky. Born in 1953, this exquisite whisky was
created in a very limited edition by the Chivas Brothers to pay tribute to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Only 2500 cases were produced
for worldwide distribution. The first flagon adorned with royal crest, was presented to the new queen on the day of her coronation. The
name chosen was a mark of respect to the new monarch. It was called Royal Salute 21, after the 21 gun salute - the ultimate honour
created by the Royal Navy to pay tribute to dignitaries and nations alike.
Strathisla dating back to 1786 is the oldest working distillery in Speyside and is the home of Royal Salute. Strathisla produces Scotland’s
most prized malt whiskies, which are at the heart of every glass of Royal Salute. Distinctively distilled and matured to perfection, Royal
Salute 21 offers a superlative experience that surpasses all expectations.
Inspired by the jewels in the coronation crown, it is lavishly presented in Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald coloured porcelain flagons. And
each one is individually embellished by the expert craftsmen at Wade over a four day period. The flagon is further enclosed in a velvet
pouch.
The deep gold colour of the whisky reflects the power and richness of the flavours and the soft fruity aromas leave a rich, long and
lingering aftertaste. Balanced with a delicate floral fragrance and mellow honeyed sweetness, Royal Salute 21 is the perfect toast to
serenade the royal palates. This virtuoso will be brought forth at threesixty and Club Bar, this quarter. For further details, get in touch
with service team.
