Non-destructive testing of in-service components by magnetic technique:(i) Magnetic Evaluation of service-exposed Process heater tubes ofPetrochemical industries.(ii) Magnetic evaluation of various steels viz; 304SS under plastic deformation,CrMo steels under ageing and creep.AWARDS / FELLOWSHIPS:(i) Best poster paper award at 41 st NMD- 57 th Annual Technical Meeting of IndianInstitute of Metals in the year 2003 held at Kolkata, India2
(ii) Nijhawan Award-2004 for the best technical paper within National MetallurgicalLaboratory,Jamshedpur, India(iii) NML’s best In-house Project completed in 2005 for the project” Development ofNanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Materials for high temperature applications” (OLP-0020)(iv) Indian National Science Academy (INSA) visiting fellowship for the year 2009-2010(v) Best technical paper award in R & D titled “Characterisation of Cr-Mo Steelsubjected to high temperature using magnetic NDE technique” published in Journalof Nondestructive Testing & Evaluation (official journal of ISNT), awarded byISNT during the year 2008-09 at NIT, Trichy, NDE-2009, 10-12Dec’09(vi) Second best poster award at 47 th NMD- 63 rd ATM of Indian Institute of Metals inthe year 2009 held at Kolkata, India 16-17Nov, 2009(vii) V.A Altekar award for best technology transferred from the laboratory during theyear 2008 for the technology developed entitled “ Development of manufacturingtechnology for the production of Fe-based wide metallic glass ribbons”.
