programs and educational opportunities offered by <strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> throughout northeast and north central Nebraska.

<strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> is a dynamic, growing college. We’ve recently partnered with the<br />
University of Nebraska Medical Center <strong>College</strong> of Nursing to create the Northern Division, providing<br />
nursing education opportunities through the doctorate level. We’ve also partnered with Wayne State<br />
<strong>College</strong> to build the <strong>College</strong> Center in South Sioux City, extending expanded, affordable education<br />
opportunities to our service area’s easternmost border.<br />
These successes are due in large part to your contributions. Without the <strong>Foundation</strong> and its<br />
contributors, many of our visions and partnerships for new programs would go unrealized. Moreover,<br />
without your support, many of our students would be unable to afford a college education. Your<br />
investment in <strong>Northeast</strong>, in our students, and by extension, our communities will pay immeasurable<br />
dividends into the future.<br />
Our sincerest thanks for providing increasing opportunities to our students, and for helping us put<br />
them on the road to success. You make it all possible.<br />

<strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> (NECC) is committed to providing quality<br />
educational opportunities for students in a safe and affordable environment.<br />
The <strong>Foundation</strong> seeks funding to assist NECC in fulfilling its mission to<br />
students throughout its 20-county service area in the following ways:<br />
• Development of endowments for <strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
programs and initiatives;<br />
• Acquisition of equipment to enhance hands-on student learning;<br />
• Expansion of campus facilities and programs; and<br />
• Provision of student scholarship funds.<br />
Several types of gifts/contributions are welcome, each allowing the donors<br />
unique tax benefits and the opportunity to designate their gifts for specific<br />
program areas or purposes.<br />
Endowments, bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder<br />
unitrusts, charitable lead trusts, life insurance, cash, securities, closely held<br />
stock, real estate, and other property all help our students for generations to<br />
come.

The <strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>’s<br />
Key Society consists of individuals or families who<br />
have arranged for a planned gift to the <strong>College</strong><br />
through a specific provision by will, the creation<br />
of a charitable trust or gift annuity, the gift of a<br />
life insurance policy, or the gift of real estate. By<br />
planning their gift, the Key Society’s members are<br />
able to make a generous donation without using<br />
any of their current income. in many cases, these legacy gifts keep giving past the donor’s lifetime, enabling the donor to<br />
touch the lives of many future generations of <strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> students.<br />

Responding to our Region’s needs<br />
training our region’s workforce is what <strong>Northeast</strong><br />
<strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> is all about. Because we are locally<br />
governed, we are able to respond quickly when new<br />
industries come about, when our existing workforce<br />
needs to learn new skills, and when area businesses are<br />
looking to expand.<br />
in just the last few years, <strong>Northeast</strong> has implemented<br />
program options for wind energy, renewable fuels,<br />
graphic design, rural agribanking, and industrial<br />
technician to respond to the needs of area employers.<br />
Renewable Fuels<br />
in order to keep tuition and property taxes affordable,<br />
<strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> continually looks for<br />
other funding sources to finance the start-up costs for<br />
new programs and services. Private donations, grants,<br />
and federal appropriations provide these critical funds,<br />
allowing <strong>Northeast</strong> to continue to respond to area<br />
needs.<br />

Our partnerships with the University of Nebraska Medical<br />
Center to build the <strong>College</strong> of Nursing and with Wayne<br />
State <strong>College</strong> to build the <strong>College</strong> Center are direct results<br />
of our Board of Governors and administration listening to<br />
the needs of our employers.<br />

As new technologies are introduced into<br />
the regional workforce and as new careers<br />
evolve, education must keep pace.<br />
The <strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
<strong>Foundation</strong> has developed the <strong>College</strong><br />
Success and Sustainability Fund to allow<br />
<strong>Northeast</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> more<br />
flexibility in responding to these changes.<br />
