Close-up/Macro AdapterTechnicalConsiderationsThe techniques used in Macro 3Dphotography have much in commonwith Macro 2D photography. However, there are twofundamental technicalconsiderations unique to Macro 3D:Total Stereoscopic Deviation andCommon Coverage.Total Stereoscopic Deviation is theangular measure of how far youreyes must rotate when you lookfrom the closest object in the sceneto the furthest. For comfortableviewing this angle should be keptbelow about 4 degrees (2˚per eye).As you get closer to your subject, allthe angles rapidly become moreacute, so you must stay alert to theacceptable distance range betweenthe camera and the objects in thescene. The table below describesthe range increase that the Closeup/MacroAdapter provides.Common Coverage is the part ofthe stereoscopic scene that iscommon to both the right and leftimages. The more that is common, the better.Product Highlights Reduces stereo base from 75mmto 25mm Hot shoe mount & trigger forexternal flash* Neck strap anchors fit 3/8” or10mm strap width Convenient hand grip is easy tohold Built in 72mm lens ring enablesattachment of additional Close-uplens, ring flash filter or lens hood Tripod mount Precision mirror alignment Sealed mirror chamberClose-up/Macro AdapterClose-Up/Macro Adapter Specifications & ComparisonsMinimum Focus DistanceWITHOUT Infinity in thebackground (a pure close-up)Min Focus Distance(max zoom, maxmagnification)On-ScreenMagnification(camera display)Field of View atFocus Plane(width)Max depth ofScene for 3 ˚ParallaxFuji W3 (camera only) 20" 0.5 2.5" 11"With Close-up Adapter 12" 0.75 2.5" 21"With Adapter & Close-up Lens 6" 1.6 1.1" 3"
