ENTRY FEES: Solo dancing £4.00Premierships £6.00Teams (per dancer) £2.00Family Maximum £50.00Door Entry £4.00 Age to be taken from 1st January 2013 Official entry forms and fees must reach the feis secretary by Monday 18th March 2013 Late Entries until Monday 25th March – 25% surcharge. Cheques made payable to Kathleen McLaughlin Beginner/ Primary Grades will be held in single year age groups where entry numbers aresufficient.Feis Rules1. Entries will only be accepted from teachers currently registered with An Coimisiún le RincíGaelacha.2. The adjudicators decisions are final.3. Complaints, in writing, to be accompanied with a £20 fee to the feis secretary within 1 hour <strong>of</strong> theincident. The fee will be returned if the complaint is upheld.4. Competitors must be present when their competition is called and fully obey all directions from theFeis Stewards and Hall Stewards, or they may lose their right to dance.5. 6. Beginner and Primary competitions are open to dancers from all regions. Speeds will be inaccordance with those stipulated by the Scottish Regional Council.7. Dancers in Beginner and Primary competitions up to and including the Under 12 age groupmust abide by the Scottish Regional Council Costume Rule.8. Make-up is not permitted for dancers in Beginner and Primary competitions up to andincluding the Under 12 age group9. Beginners are only permitted to dance basic steps. Any competitor performing steps <strong>of</strong> a harderdegree <strong>of</strong> difficulty in the Beginner grade may be disqualified from that particular competition.10. Beginner: A dancer winning 1st or 2nd in the BEGINNER grade must dance that particular dance inPRIMARY grade for at least 12 months.11. Primary: A dancer winning 1st in the PRIMARY grade must dance that particular dance inINTERMEDIATE grade for at least 12 months.12. Intermediate: A dancer winning 1st in the INTERMEDIATE grade must dance that particular dancein OPEN grade for at least 12 months.13. Open: A dancer winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the OPEN competition must dance that particular dancein OPEN grade for at least 12 months.14. Any form <strong>of</strong> coaching during a competitor’s performance is strictly prohibited.15. In competitions where there are 5 or fewer dancers, these grading regulations do not apply16. Dancers must be in full costume and appropriate footwear when receiving awards.17. The dress code in accordance with An Coimisiún rules will be strictly observed i.e. for the sake <strong>of</strong>modesty and in the interest <strong>of</strong> safety to young people, dancers will not be permitted to walk aroundthe feis scantily dressed.18. Toe blocks or any other footwork danced “en-pointe” whether stationary or moving is not permittedfor those dancers up to and including the Under 12 age group.19. Any form <strong>of</strong> unauthorised photography which has the capability to capture a dancer’s image whilst inmotion, using electronic or manual means, e.g. mobile phone, standard camera, video camcorder, cinerecorder, commercial film, with or without flash enhancement, is expressly forbidden in competition.20. No Hairspray to be used in dancing areas.21. Competitors must not practice in competition halls, corridors or side stage etc. This rule will bestrictly enforced. Any dancer found causing damage to floor surfaces etc will be liable for anynecessary repairs.22. The use <strong>of</strong> mobile phones and electronic games is strictly prohibited in dancing areas.23. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building.24. The Feis Committee may modify or cancel any arrangements detailed in this syllabus as is deemednecessary subject to the approval <strong>of</strong> the Scottish Regional Council.
