Dear Teachers,
The Championship Committee is delighted to announce that the 2011 All Scotland
Championships will take place in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the same venue
as the World Championships 2010.. This fabulous venue is situated in the heart of
Glasgow and is surrounded by many outstanding hotels, restaurants and shopping
areas.
This is the first time that the Championships will be the secondary qualifying event
for dancers resident in mainland Britain or Continental Europe.
We are again offering Preliminary Championships which will run in conjunction with
the Open Championships (Under 10 Championships upwards). All Championships
will also have 2 solo results (U5 & U 6 have 3 Solo results). Please read carefully
the rules of eligibility for Preliminary Championships.

The above timetable is only provisional and is based on the 2010 GB
Entries. The final timetable will be issued 4 weeks prior to the
competitions.
The organisers will try to keep to the above days wherever possible but
some smaller competitions may need to be changed.
2. All entries must be made on the enclosed official entry forms, which must be fully
completed and signed by the teacher. Entries will only be accepted from teachers
en-bloc and not on an individual basis.
3. The dancer’s FULL FIRST NAME and SURNAME must be entered in BLOCK
CAPITALS. The choice of Reel or Slip Jig, Jig or Hornpipe, name and tempo of set
dances for Championships must also be stated.
4. The Feis Committee may modify or cancel any arrangements detailed in this
syllabus as is deemed necessary, subject to the approval of AN COIMISIÚN.
5. Adjudicators decisions are final.
6. Complaints (written) and accompanied with a £20.00 fee to the Feis Secretary prior
to the announcement of a result. The fee will be returned if the complaint is
upheld.
7. Competitors must be present when their competition is called and fully obey all
directions from Feis Stewards and Officials, or they may lose their right to dance.
Everyone in attendance must follow the Code of Conduct published in the
programme.
8 All trophies are perpetual challenge trophies and must be returned at the request of
the Feis Committee.
9. The normal rotation of dances will be Heavy Jig or Hornpipe, Reel or Slip Jig.
10. Tempos for Solo Championships will be the same as those stipulated for the World
Championships.

11. All competitors must be in full costume and appropriate footwear when receiving
awards, otherwise such awards may be forfeited.
13. Changing facilities will be provided and must be used. NO CHANGING IN THE HALLS
WILL BE ALLOWED.
14. THE DRESS CODE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN COIMISIUN RULING WILL BE
STRICTLY OBSERVED. i..e. for the sake of modesty and in the interests of safety to
young people, dancers will not be permitted to walk around the feis scantily dressed.

15. Practise areas will be provided. Any dancer causing damage to any floor surfaces outwith
this area will be liable for all costs associated in any repairs required.
16. No flash photography or video recording equipment may be used whilst competitions are in
progress. The use of mobile phones and electronic games is also strictly prohibited in
competition halls.
. The organisers have appointed an official photographer – Feispix – for the All Scotland
Championships 2011, who will take photographs of competitors, competitions and presentations.
Such photographs may be subsequently used for marketing and promotional purposes of the
event including the publication of such photographs on the official website
www.mccutcheonschool.co.uk and the website of An Coimisiún www.clrg.ie.
18.The organisers may also appoint other agents during the course of the Championships for
special promotional projects and reserves the right to appoint suitably accredited photojournalists
to take photographs on a case by case basis. Should any dancer or dancer’s
parent or guardian wish to be excluded from any of these photographs, please contact
James or Noreen McCutcheon with relevant details.
19. Other than the photographs taken by the official photographer, authorised agents of the
organisers or accredited photo journalists, all photographs of competitors, competitions
and presentations may only be taken for personal use. They may not be redistributed,
sold, lent or passed on to third parties. They may also not be used for commercial
purposes or used in any publication or website without the express written permission of
the organisers and the parents or guardians of all dancers included in any particular
picture.
20. Preliminary Championships will be provided in the Under 10 age group upwards
provided that there are at least 6 competitors eligible to compete.
21. To be eligible to compete in a Preliminary Championship, dancers cannot have placed
in the top 3 positions of an open Championship or have won a Preliminary Championship
since 1 st October 2010.
22. Preliminary Championships will be held in conjunction with the Solo Championship and
will be decided in accordance with the order of merit after the first two rounds.
23. Coaching from the floor is strictly prohibited and may result in the disqualification of
the dancer concerned.
24. SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE VENUE.
