<strong>Good</strong> <strong>Food</strong> FOr <strong>Camden</strong>The latest projections suggest that the population of the borough islikely to grow, by up to 10 per cent over the next ten years ifcurrent trends continue*. There is projected to be a steady increasein the number of people aged 40-49 until 2014. An increase is thenprojected in the 50-59 age group after 2014.Figure 1. In the UK, people onlower incomes are more likely to suffer from diseases that are oftenassociated with a poor diet, such as heart disease, cancers andstroke as well as being associated with poor oral health. Factorsthat can contribute to a poor diet among people on lower incomesinclude lack of money, inadequate shopping facilities, lack ofknowledge and conflicting in<strong>for</strong>mation about what constitutes ahealthy diet.<strong>Camden</strong> has significant income and health inequalities.
