at the time <strong>of</strong> his election, a Doctor <strong>of</strong> Laws, a Master <strong>of</strong> Arts, or a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Lawsin one <strong>of</strong> our two universities <strong>of</strong> England, <strong>of</strong> ten years standing from hismatriculation, and also a Barrister at Law; and the Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Medicine shall be, atthe time <strong>of</strong> his election, a Master <strong>of</strong> Arts, who shall have been licensed to practisephysic for the space <strong>of</strong> two years, or a Doctor or Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Physic in one <strong>of</strong> our saidtwo universities <strong>of</strong> England, or a member <strong>of</strong> some one <strong>of</strong> the Scotch universities <strong>of</strong>seven years standing, and twenty-five years <strong>of</strong> age, who shall have attended themedical lectures in one <strong>of</strong> the Scotch universities for four years.Electorsmay vote byproxy.AND we do hereby further will, declare, and direct, that the said several persons herebyappointed to elect the future Master and Pr<strong>of</strong>essors <strong>of</strong> the said intended college, shallbe at liberty to give ther votes in such elections by a proxy, in writing, to any other <strong>of</strong>the said electors.Mode <strong>of</strong>elections andqualifications <strong>of</strong>the futureFellows.AND we do hereby further will, declare, and direct, that the future fellows <strong>of</strong> the saidcollege, except those to be first named by us as aforesaid, Shall be elected by theMaster, Pr<strong>of</strong>essors, and such Fellows <strong>of</strong> the said college as shall be <strong>of</strong> the degree <strong>of</strong>Master <strong>of</strong> Arts, from among persons who shall have taken a degree in Arts, Physic orCivil Law, in one <strong>of</strong> our said two universities <strong>of</strong> England, provided that the person tobe elected to either <strong>of</strong> the said two clerical fellowships shall have taken the degree <strong>of</strong>Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Arts, and shall be in holy orders at the time <strong>of</strong> his election, or if not inholy orders at the time <strong>of</strong> his election, shall enter into holy orders within six calendarmonths after his election; and if he shall not so do, his fellowship shall become and bevacant, from and after the expiration <strong>of</strong> such term <strong>of</strong> six calendar months from the day<strong>of</strong> such election.Elections to bemade within sixmonths, orlapse to theVisitor.AND we do hereby will, declare, and direct, that all such elections as aforesaid shall bemade within six calendar months after any vacancy shall happen; or, in default ther<strong>of</strong>,we do hereby reserve to us, our heirs and successors, as visitor <strong>of</strong> the said college, theright <strong>of</strong> nominating some person or persons, qualified as aforesaid, to supply suchvacancy.xii
