Important Information for Digital Tachograph – Driver Card Holders

What you need to do:– If you have already applied for a replacement driver card, you should receive it soon. You donot need to take any further action.– If your driver card is malfunctioning and you have not applied for a replacement, you needto take the following action immediately; please complete the details on the attached pageand return it with the malfunctioning card to DVLA in the enclosed envelope. We will issuea replacement card to you within 21 days. You can continue to drive until you receive thereplacement card as long as you follow the normal recording rules as referred to above.– If your driver card is not malfunctioning, you can either:• take no action and continue to use it. If it stops working before it expires you will need toapply to have it replaced in the normal way, or• replace your current card by completing the attached page and return it with the card toDVLA in the enclosed envelope.– If your card has or is due to expire you will still receive a reminder to renew the card and youshould do so in the normal way.We are experiencing a large number of enquiries about this problem and at times it may bedifficult to contact us.
