Not allcards issued during this period are affected and some may continue to work until they expire.Our records show that you hold a digital tachograph driver card that was issued duringthis period.This letter is to remind you how this affects you and what you should do next.How this affects you:– You can continue to drive and use your current driver card if it is unaffected.– If your driver card is malfunctioning you must apply <strong>for</strong> a replacement immediately in order tocontinue to drive.What you need to do:If your driver card is not malfunctioning, take no action and continue to use it. If it stops workingbe<strong>for</strong>e it expires you will need to apply to have it replaced in the normal way.If your driver card is malfunctioning and you have not applied <strong>for</strong> a replacement, you need to takethe following action immediately.Complete the details on the attached page and return it with the malfunctioning card to DVLA inthe enclosed envelope.We will issue a replacement card to you within 15 days. You can continue to drive until you receivethe replacement card as long as you follow the normal recording rules.From 1 July 2012 the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (vosa) and the policewill re-instate the en<strong>for</strong>cement activities <strong>for</strong> all drivers and you will be subject to thenormal rules which includes penalties <strong>for</strong> driving without a card.
