Monitoring of the reticulation network•Typically analysers have been located inroadside cabinets as shown here. Theyusually require a concrete pad and need tobe connected to mains voltage. Theanalysers are the same as those used inthe storage network. The samples have tobe returned to the main due to the largequantities of sample water used•For years water companies have beenlocating pressure transmitters belowground. Monitoring of the reticulation network•Using technology developed by Manchester UniversitySiemens has now produced two analysers.•The Hydraclam is a battery powered device thatcan be mounted directly on the reticulation main.The Hydraclam monitors four parameters;•Turbidity•Pressure•Conductivity•Temperature•The Chloroclam is also powered by batteries butunlike the Hydraclam it is connected by anumbilical to the reticulation main.
