Juvenile BFT (age 0) are mostly found in coastal areas over <strong>the</strong> continental shelf (see Figure 019),<br />

whenever a suitable trophic chain is present.<br />

Most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> available in<strong>for</strong>mation reports a major presence along <strong>the</strong> coasts <strong>of</strong> Croatia, south<br />

Adriatic Sea, western Ionian Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea, all <strong>the</strong> north-western Mediterranean coast, in<br />

some areas <strong>of</strong> Morocco and Tunisia, in a few Aegean areas and in <strong>the</strong> Levantine Sea, between<br />

Anamur and Mersin (see Figure 020).<br />

Remarkable shifting <strong>of</strong> areas where juveniles are concentrated has been noticed from year to year.<br />

Juveniles are mostly present in feeding aggregations or schools during fall, from September to<br />

December.<br />
