Summative Evaluation of OMSI’s Technoquest (Innovation Station) p. 12Extent of Use (continued)OVERVIEW: Most kids in the target age range also said they stopped in the Ball Room(72%), but staff suspicions about lower use of some other exhibits (shown on a photo board)were confirmed–about one-third saw Build an Aqueduct, one-quarter stopped at Program aRobot, and one-fifth used each of the other three exhibit elements, Tech Choices, DrawingBoard, and Oregon Inventors. A third of the kids said they didn’t stop at any of the exhibitelements shown on the photo board, except the Ball Room. The patterns of use were similaramong younger and older kids and there was only one significant difference between girlsand boys. Girls were more likely than boys to stop at the Drawing Board.CHILD EXIT INTERVIEWSDid you stop here? (Not everyone wasasked a follow-up about this exhibit so we can’t always tell if they were mistaken.)Research report by People, Places & Design Research © OREGON MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY, August 2005
