Directed by Tadhg O’Sullivan.2 Nobody Home - A dramatic day in the life of a remote telephone answering machine. Directed by ÉamonLittle.3 Lough Hyne is a 12 minute film that has the West Cork Nature Reserve as its central subject. Using novoice over or interviews and only recording sync-sound, it attempts to capture the natural world in real time. Atits heart is the notion of a film where the viewer is given time to contemplate the texture of the natural worldand their own place in it. Directed by Pat Collins.2Wexford artist Michael Fortune presents threecollections of folklore which he recorded in Mayo,Tipperary, Offaly and Wexford over the past fiveyears. Never before have these collections beenpresented side by side in Ireland and this is awonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in a worldof contemporary and ancient superstition and belief.Writing about Fortune’s solo show in Triskel ArtsCentre in 2007, Sarah Tuck, Director of Create said‘For Fortune folklore is both memory and occasion, fiction and interpretation. Fortune’s work traces andmakes evident how folklore repertoire is constantlyadded to and how the rules of artifice adapt to theoccasion of performance’.Further information at www.michaelfortune.ieFollowing the Whitethorn (2009)The Fall of the Leaf (2010)Half for You, Half for Me (2008)Running time: 22 mins each.MICHAEL FORTUNEFOLKLORECOLLECTIONSMON-SAT JULY 26-3117CORK FILMCENTRE SHORTSThis diverse programme of videos by emerging Irish artists workingwith the moving image draws on and reflects Cork Film Centre’s longestablished commitment to supporting exciting new video work.
