Purpose of Training
Modern refrigeration equipment requires precise
diagnostic procedures to efficiently and correctly
troubleshoot and service these systems. It is no
longer acceptable to rely on “rules of thumb.”
Diagnosing mechanical problems within a
refrigeration system is one of the most common
yet challenging tasks performed by a service
technician. Air conditioning system problems
mainly fall into two categories: air flow problems
and refrigerant cycle problems. Both of these
types of problems are covered in this course.
This course is designed to provide the attendee
with a solid foundation in mechanical
refrigeration diagnostic and troubleshooting
procedures.
Course Content includes:
 Diagnosing Air Conditioning Systems
 Air Flow
 Refrigerant Cycle
 Systematic Troubleshooting
 Service Checklist
 System Evacuation Using the Deep
Vacuum Method
 System Burnout
 Troubleshooting
Training Manual
Basic Refrigeration & Charging Procedures
This 86-page manual addresses air conditioning
and refrigeration system problems and how to
troubleshoot them systematically. Air conditioning
system diagnostic is covered including airflow
problems, refrigerant cycle problems, suction line
restrictions, undercharge, overcharge, compressor
inefficiencies, non-condensable in the system and
low and high condenser entering air temperatures.
Interactive CD-ROM
This CD contains information on refrigerant
pressures, states and conditions as well as how they
apply to the refrigeration system. Vapor pressures,
sub-cooling, superheat, saturation, latent heat, and
sensible heat are explained and applied to the
refrigeration cycle. Basic system components, their
functions and applications are included. Each
point in the refrigeration cycle is explained in
detail.
