SENIOR COLLEGE NewsWould $2000 make a difference to the achievement of yourchild’s tertiary education goals?The Maryborough Club of the 34th District QuotaInternational Inc will conducts itsQUOTA “STUDENT OF THE YEAR” QUESTagain this year.There are only two stages in the competition ‐ the Clubjudging on Wednesday 21 July, 2010 and the District Finalon the 14 August, 2010. Each stage of the competitioninvolves an interview and public speaking.The Club winner receives $100 and the cha nce to compete inthe District final. The District winner receives a scholarshipof $2000 tenable over a period of 3 years.Learning new skills can be very exciting, especially if you lovepower tools and timber! Four weeks ago we rece ived 3wood lathes for use in the work shop. They have been agreat hit with our Industrial Technology students, as they arelearning how to turn wood, and the craft of making turneditems.Kyle is working on a mini football, Joe and Daniel arecreating mini baseball bats. This event provides anopportunity for prospective school leavers to findemployment prior to finishing school.Year 9 Formal EventThursday, 17th June. Year 9 students are to wear fulllength (ankle length) dresses for the girls and suits forthe boys. The event will begin at 12:20 (Period 5),where students will be allowed to change into theirformal gear. At lunch, finger food will be served, madefreshly by the Year 10’s.
