Benchtop Pro with OmnitronicsThe VirTis BenchTop Pro freeze dryers havebeen designed to meet the needs of the mostdemanding research laboratories. Eachsystem can be configured to accommodatepresent and future requirements. Condenserrefrigeration packages of -55°C, -75°C,-85°C and -105°C can meet the demandsof both aqueous or aqueous-solvent basedformulations. You can configure your systemto run just a few samples orto process a relatively heavyload with condenser sizechoices of 3 liter, 8 liter or9 liter. Selecting a size andtemperature configurationallows you to maximize the useof the freeze dryer in your labwhile not paying needlesslyfor unnecessary capacity orrefrigeration. Each system can beconfigured to meetthe needs of the mostdemanding researchlaboratories.02

ManifoldsManifolds are available in a varietyof styles and are designed to beinterchangeable. There are a number ofconsiderations when selecting a manifold. In a multi-user lab it is often best to utilizea robust stainless steel manifold. Inapplications where inorganic solvents arebeing utilized or you are rack drying andwant to ensure visibility an acrylic manifoldwould be preferred. In applicationswith organic solvents the stainless steelmanifolds will provide long lasting use.03

Omnitronics ControllerThe Omnitronics Controller simplifies freeze dryingand makes the system easy to operate. One touchstart up and shut down ensure that your productand freeze dryer are protected from inappropriateprocedures. The graphic display provides at-aglanceunderstanding of the status of the freezedryer and whether or not appropriate freeze dryingconditions exist. Audible alarms help notify theuser of potential problems with the system andhence, with the product. All Omnitronics controllerscome complete with a trending screen that allowsyou to watch critical parameters on an on-goingbasis if required. Utilizing the optional Ethernetcontrol, you can connect the freeze dryer to yourcompany’s or institution’s network, and monitorand/or control your freeze dryer from any otherlocation on the network. The Ethernet optionalso allows print out in a batch record, alphanumeric, type report. One touch start up and shutdown ensure that your productand freeze dryer are protectedfrom inappropriate procedures.04

Don’t waste time withslow & messy defrostingThe hot gas defrost in the BenchTop Proallows for fast turnaround time and helpsminimize clean up efforts when havingto pour warm water into a condenser. Inaddition, corrosive solvents which are moreactive at ambient and higher temperatureswill spend a minimum amount of dwell timein the condenser with fast hot gas defrost—no need to wait overnight to drain thesystem.05

Features of the BenchTop Pro• Condensers of 3, 8 and 9 liters in a bench topfootprint• Refrigeration packages for maximum lowtemperature of -55°, -75°, -85° or -105°C• One touch start-up and shut-down• Pressure control to avoid back-streaming or forfaster freeze drying• A variety of manifolds to accommodate mostprocessing configurations• Rugged and reliable Pirani vacuum sensor• Hot gas defrost in approximately 10 minutes orless• Optional vacuum pump isolation valveSelection GuideThere are two main criteria for selecting the benchtop freeze dryer that is right foryou. The first is determining what condenser capacity you need in between defrostcycles. The second is to determine what solvents you may be using in your process. When utilizing water as the only solvent the highest condenser temperature offered isappropriate. In cases where organic or inorganic solvents are being utilized as partof the solvent matrix the lowest temperature condenser is always preferred.Load CapacitySolvents 3 Liter 8 Liter 9 LiterWater ES (-55°C) XL (-75°C) ES (-55°C)Water and inorganic solvents XL (-75°C) ZL (-105°C) EL (-85°C)Water & organic solvents XL (-75°C) ZL (-105°C) EL (-85°C)Manifold Material ChoiceAcrylic or stainless steel. Wide Mouth Filter Seal FlasksThese borosilicate flasks are specially designed for manifold freeze drying. The flatbottom makes it easy to stabilize the flask in its upright position for “plug” or staticfreezing. The wide mouth of the flask makes it easier to place product in the flask andperhaps even more importantly, remove product from the flask. The snap on silicone topensures a good vacuum seal and comes complete with a filter to eliminate the possibilityof cross contamination when several flasks are on the same dryer. All components canbe autoclaved. The flask itself is available in regular and in safety coated configurations.Must be used with manifold adaptors.Regular FlaskPart NumberSafety CoatedPart NumberMaximumCapacityMaximumFill235390 312892 40 ml 20 ml235382 312900 75 ml 35 ml118174 312918 150 ml 75 ml118208 312918 300 ml 150 ml118232 312934 600 ml 300 ml118273 312942 1200 ml 600 ml118307 312959 2000 ml 1000 mlManifold AdaptorsPart Number Material Shape Port Size CompatibleFlasks367424 Plastic Straight Barb ¾” 150 – 2000 ml179655 Glass Straight ¾” 150 – 2000 ml177923 Stainless steel Straight ¾” 150 – 2000 ml177899 Glass 45 degree ¾” 150 – 2000 ml177931 Stainless steel 45 degree ¾” 150 – 2000 ml179622 Glass Straight ¾” 40 & 75 ml177873 Glass 45 degree ¾” 40 & 75 mlDon’t see the adaptor you need?
