Expanding Capabilities to Servethe CommunityOver the past five years, Dublin Methodist has never stoppedgrowing to better serve the community.SurgeryBy offering an outpatient-like experience for inpatientprocedures, Dublin Methodist has become a populardestination when surgery is required. Based on a strongresponse from the community, two operating rooms wereadded in 2009, for a total of six operating rooms, opening theway for dramatic surgical growth.Spine surgery was added in 2009, and since, Dublin Methodisthas solidified its leadership position in the care and treatmentof spinal conditions ranging from fractures and spineinjuries, to scoliosis and osteoporosis to herniated disks. Ourorthopedic surgeons work closely with our neurosurgeons,physiatrists and pain management team to providecomprehensive, individualized care.The following year Dublin Methodist, in partnership with footand ankle physicians, created The Foot and Ankle Center ofExcellence. Today foot and ankle surgery is one of the highestvolume specialties at Dublin Methodist, and some of thecountry’s top orthopedic surgeons are practicing here. In fact,an orthopedic surgical team at Dublin Methodist performedthe world’s first Prophecy Total Ankle Replacement by usingthe newest TAR technology, a computer program designed tohelp the surgeon map out the exact surgical plan before thepatient even arrives at the hospital. This technology reducestime in the operating room, allows for a safer procedure andhelps improve the surgeon’s accuracy on implant placement— all leading to better outcomes for the patient.In addition to foot and ankle and spineprocedures, Dublin Methodist providessurgical expertise in general surgery,endoscopy, ENT, gynecology and urology— with more surgical innovations to come.As part of patient-centered care, Dublin Methodist hasimproved efficiency while expanding services, as reflectedin reduced time between cases and high ratings foron-time starts.
