Prior to joining PennWell in 2005, Paganie served as editor of offshore field development internationalat ODS-Petrodata (now IHS-Petrodata); and as an analyst at Baker Energy (now Wood Group). He has over 15 years of experience in the upstreamoffshore oil and gas industry. Paganie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialty in finance from Ohio University.ADVIS<strong>OR</strong>Y BOARD CHAIRMAN WELCOME:Matt Lamey, Project Manager & Facilities Engineering Advisor for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has more than 30 years of experience in the oiland natural gas industry, 18 of which have been spent on deep water offshore production facilities surveillance, operations support, and facilitiesengineering and construction. Mr. Lamey has been at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for more than 12 years, primarily managing major offshoreprojects for both the Gulf of Mexico and <strong>International</strong> developments. His first project at the company was Red Hawk, the world’s first cell sparand one of the first floating production facilities to utilize polyester mooring lines. He is presently the Project Manager for Lucius, Anadarko’s largest spar todate. Mr. Lamey holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University and has remained active in the offshore community throughmembership and presentations for SPE, OTC, and DOT.CONFERENCE INF<strong>OR</strong>obert “Don” Vardeman is vice president of worldwide project management for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. He was named an Officer of theCompany in December 2011.After graduating magna cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1975 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he began his career with Amocoin operations, drilling and facilities. He later joined Sun Exploration and Production Company, predecessor of Oryx Energy Company, where he heldpositions of increasing responsibility in facilities and project management. Kerr-McGee merged with Oryx in 1999 and he later became vice president of marinefacilities engineering. Vardeman and his group have led the execution of the company’s deepwater developments. He currently has execution responsibility forAnadarko’s major projects in Algeria, Mozambique, Gulf of Mexico and Onshore USA.In November 2005, Don was awarded the Citation of Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland by the President of Finland for meritorious service to themaritime industry of Finland. In 2009, Vardeman received the Achievement Award from the Engineering and Construction Contracting Association. He serves onthe Engineering Advisory Council at Texas A&M and has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the <strong>Offshore</strong> <strong>Technology</strong> Conference. Don and hiswife, Ann, reside in the Houston area, and have four grown children and seven grandchildren.OPERAT<strong>OR</strong> PERSPECTIVE:Joe currently serves as General Manager of Major Capital Projects within Chevron’s <strong>Deep</strong>water Exploration and Projects (DWEP) Business Unit.Headquartered in Houston, Texas, DWEP manages exploration, appraisal, and development within the <strong>Deep</strong>water Gulf of Mexico.Joe earned a B.S. in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1982, and began his career as an offshore facilities engineer with Chevron inNew Orleans.Prior to joining DWEP, Joe served as the Gorgon Development PM from 2004-2007 and served as Chevron’s Energy <strong>Technology</strong> Company’s GM for the FacilitiesEngineering Department which serves as the center of expertise for engineering disciplines including mechanical, subsea & pipeline, civil structural, processautomation, and reliability & integrity.Joe and Melanie have three sons and live in Friendswood, Texas.WWW.DEEPOFFSH<strong>OR</strong>ETECHNOLOGY.COM7
