Compliance with 

Residential Standards 

The “Residential Telecommunications 

– Infrastructure Standard” (TIA-570-B) 

published by the Telecommunications Industry 

Association (TIA) provides specifications for 

grades of cabling, installation, termination 

and testing for residential voice, data and 

video wiring. The Electronics Industries 

Association (EIA) has established EIA-IS-60 

as the standard for whole-house automation 

over multiple media, specifically for twisted 

pair and coaxial cables. This standard is 

also known as the Consumer Electronics Bus 

or CEBus. The Uniprise Mixed Use Network 

Solutions are compliant with both the TIA- 

570-B and EIA-IS-60 standards.

and retail spaces. The modular and flexible 

design of our solutions allows each customer 

to choose the applications that best suit 

their budget. 

Data Networking Solutions (B) 

In-home networking now means more than 

simple access to the Internet. Homeowners 

demand multiple access points to online 

services for the entire family and a full range 

of connections for a home office, including 

a local area network that often requires 

extensive flexibility and performance. Uniprise 

Data Networking Solutions for the mixed use 

environment can accommodate an array of 

copper and fiber connections to meet the 

needs of today’s high-speed networks.

Audio Solutions (C) 

Uniprise Audio Solutions provide rich, clear 

multi-room distribution from a single audio 

source providing background music or a 

home theater system bringing a favorite 

movie to life. Our audio distribution modules 

transmit speaker output from a single source 

to as many as eight separate locations 

providing high-quality performance to suit 

the audio entertainment needs of mixed 

use environments. 

Video Solutions (D) 

Uniprise Video Solutions are used most 

commonly for entertainment applications. 

They can also provide for the distribution of 

video for education purposes or entertainment 

from a home theater system. Our 10 dB bidirectional 

amplifier can be tuned to provide 

quality video performance and meet the unique 

requirements of any mixed use environment. 

The Uniprise Difference 

Unlike traditional structured wiring systems, 

Uniprise Mixed Use Network Solutions provide 

simultaneous distribution of high-speed data, 

voice and video signals throughout residential 

or commercial spaces. All incoming signals 

are fed into a media distribution device then 

distributed to individual room outlets. Once the 

system is installed, all electronic equipment, 

including cable, satellite, computers, printers 

and fax machines can be connected to 

virtually any outlet in your network.

The Uniprise UNMDU-TDM-8 is a voice 

distribution module that provides eight 

telecom outlets, each with up to four phone 

lines. The module offers standard IDC punchdowns 

for quick and easy installation. An 

expansion module (UNMDU-TDM-EXP-8) is 

also available and offers an additional eight 

telecom outlets. As an additional feature, the 

module accommodates security systems and 

alarms (RJ31X) through incoming 

phone service.

The Uniprise UNMDU-SW-8 is a compact 

network switch providing 10/100 Base-T, 

fast ethernet switching and high performance 

at a low cost. Its 8-port 10/100 BASE- 

TX switch accepts up to seven computers 

simultaneously and automatically detects 

connection speed for both 10 Mb/s and 

100 Mb/s devices. This versatile switch is 

also a store and forward switching device 

that can auto-learn and store source 

IP addresses. 

The Uniprise UNMDU-DDM-8 is a data 

transmission module supporting up to 

eight data outlets for either Category 5e 

(UNMDU-DDM-8-C5e) or Category 

6 (UNMDU-DDM-8-C6) performance 

requirements. It is designed for front 110 

punchdown terminations and connection 

to multiple data outlets.

The Uniprise UNMDU-VDM video distribution 

modules are passive, high-quality nonamplified 

splitters that provide reliable 

video signals for 4, 6 or 8 television 

outlets throughout the premise. For higher 

performance video signal, the video amplifier 

(UNMDU-VAM) can be used with any of 

the modules. 

The Uniprise UNMDU-VAM is a 10 dB 

bi-directional amplifier used to strengthen 

the video signal coming into the UNMDU 

access enclosure. The amplifier allows the 

strengthened signal to be distributed into 

one of the modules (UNMDU-VDM series) 

throughout the unit. A 12 VDC power
