BEFORE THE DEPARTURE
ACCESS DETAILS AND OPENING
HOURS FOR THE DEPARTURE DAY
You will find all the access details to reach the bases in the
last part of this book.
All the formalities and the boarding take place every departure
day from 2pm to 6pm. The bases are also open on
these days between 9am to noon. People arriving by plane
or train, can come and leave their luggage.
Some of our bases have particular opening hours (please
see their respective details at the end of this book):
Chioggia, Loisy, Valence-sur-Baïse, La Suze-sur-Sarthe,
Châteauneuf, Mikolajki
There is no point in arriving before 2pm because the registration
and the boarding cannot start before this time, the
morning being reserved for the return of our previous
clients and the preparation of the boat for the following
ones. Equally, if you think you are going to arrive late, it's
vital that you ring the base to let us know. If we're aware,
and you're only a little delayed, we will stay until you get
there. If you're going to be very late, we will give you
instructions about going on board, and we will do the handover
the following morning.
RECEPTION
As soon as you get to the base, go to the office with your
paperwork. It will take between a quarter and a half an hour
to sort out the following formalities:
➲ Filling in the hiring contract
➲ Filling in the ‘boating permit’ in France and the
‘Charterbescheinigung’ in Germany
➲ Paying the all inclusive package if you choose to do so
or
➲ Paying the damage deposit or taking out the damage
waiver
➲ Paying the fuel advance
➲ Hiring bicycles
➲ Hiring dinghies (Germany and Ireland only)
➲ Booking one or more spaces in the car park
and
➲ Paying for the pets charge (if applicable)
➲ Paying for the optional cleaning service
➲ Arranging your return to your vehicle if you are doing a
one-way trip?
➲ Paying for the services you are taking at the base before
you start
➲ Learning points of technical or touristic interest about
your chosen route.
