The spanof the arch (2m) is divided into eight equal segments. The uniform load on these segments issimulated by point loads so that there are 7 load points in total.The point loads are constructed as follows. A horizontal beam is attached to the upper strut ofthe arch. This way the load can be applied to the arch without touching the membrane (Figure5).L/H4201
