14visits paid to him, together with a statement that, inthe inspector's opinion based on his observations at theincidental visits, the teacher is still qualified to retainhis rating, and(c) a short Minute, for transmission to the manager andprincipal teacher, containing a brief report on thegeneral progress of the school as a whole." (2) In the case of all schools not visited during the year forthe purpose of holding a general inspection, the inspector willfurnish, during the year, an Annual Voucher in the case of theteachers of the school, together with a short minute suitable fortransmission to the manager and principal teacher, as indicatedat (1) (c) a-bove." 7.-Soticc of Precise Date of General Inspection." 3 days' notice of the precise date shall be sent to managersand teachers before all the general inspections referred to above." S.-Responsibility of Inspectors." (1) The district inspector shall have, as heretofore, independentresponsibility for all the work of inspection in his district,under the direction and supervision of the divisional inspector, 33authorised by the Department.(2) The district inspector shall furnish to the divisional inspectorwith his journal a list of the teachers in each school inspectedduring the week. setting forth the rating awarded." (3) The divisional inspector shall take steps to secure a correctstandard in the inspector's estimate of the teacher's service in theseveral districts in his division. He shall inspect schools annuallyin every district of his division and confer with the inspectors incharge. He may accompany the inspector of a district at thelatter's ordinary inspections, in order to make himself acquaintedwith his methods and general procedure." (4) Where a divisional inspector or an inspector of higherrank visits a school within a month of the date of the generalinspection, or at a later date when specially directed to do so forthe purpose of checking the standard of an inspector in a casewhere the inspector in furnishing a general report has altered therating of a teacher, the divisional inspector or the inspector ofhigher rank may, if he thinks fit, furnish a fresh report on theschool,and this report may be substituted for the report of thegeneralinspection previously furnished." 9.-Conferences between Inspectors and Teachers."
