y Monica Sawyer, Editorphotos by Fonzie Muñozbehind the scenes photos byJanessa Canotheonebrideguide.com • June – September 2012 {4}Airplanes and traveling are one ofmy big loves. So naturally I wantedto find a way to incorporate those elementsinto a cover for The One. JoshSalinas of Josh & Co. has become mygo-to-guy lately and had some amazingideas to make this cover come to life.I love working with Josh. Our firsttime working together was on TheOne's first anniversary issue (anotheraviation theme) when he was justbreaking out on his own. It's awesometo see how he's evolved from ahair and makeup guy to a true stylist - bringing his ownvision to the photo shoot. From the model selection togowns, menswear, jewelry, props and every little detailin between, he knows how to complete the story. We encountered some issues getting this cover off theground until Fonzie Muñoz stepped in and saved theday. Thank God for Fonzie and his assistant BrandiGrahl! Fonzie Muñoz has a reputation for being laidback and easy to work with and he did not disappoint. It was such a relief working with him and knowingwe could relax as he made our vision a reality. As thesun was setting and time became tight, Fonzie racedaround, never breaking his cool, collected demeanorthat kept everyone at ease. Even after a major mishapwith some of his equipment (and a big save byBrandi), he never let on that there was anything weneeded to worry about. He was a true professional. The idea behind this photo shoot was that the Bride andGroom had just left their reception, the Bride havingchanged into her reception dress. Off they go, along witha little canine companion in their Louis Vuitton luggage, onto a plane bound for some fantastic destination. We decided on two locations for the shoot - one insideCorpus Christi International Airport and one using aprivate plane. I LOVE traveling from Corpus Christi. Ihave friends who make the drive to San Antonio to savea few bucks, but to me it's totally worth the extra moneyto fly local. So I wanted to shoot inside the terminalto help give props to CC International Airport. KimBridger is the marketing manager at the airport andmade it a breeze to work with her and the staff insidethe facility. Even after frustrating, last-minute schedulechanges, she accommodated us and helped us getthe necessary permissions from the staff and SouthwestAirlines without any trouble. Southwest ticket agentMerrilee Thomas was also a joy to work with, allowingus to disrupt the normal flow of traveler trafficfor our photo shoot. Atlantic Aviation's Tomas Torreshelped secure the private plane, a King Air 350, graciouslyloaned by John Hubbard. Rosella Cantu withAtlantic Aviation was also a huge help, answering lots ofquestions and coordinating us with the right folks. We really enjoyed using two sets of models on ourlast shoot, so Josh suggested we do the same with thisone. At first we were going to only shoot one set ofmodels for the terminal location and another for theprivate plane, but they were all so gorgeous that wedecided to use everyone for both locations and packthe shoot into one full day. Prince Day and EuniceGreen were selected for the cover and we ended up usingSam Luna and Elasha Pilgrim for Kim's article onhoneymooning (see pg. 29). These four models weredefinitely super fun and a pleasure to spend the dayworking together. Prince and Eunice had created astory for themselves and were chatting and cracking upthe crew about wherever they were going on their fakeplane trip. But the star of the show was really the dog.Everyone fell fast in love with little Laduquesa ChristinaLouboutin, Josh's dog who sat patiently in the dogcarrier all day, posing for the cameras - what a pro!

Three other prized, go-to vendors for our cover shootshave become Gold Master Jewelers, Men's Wearhouseand Julian Gold. It amazes me every shoot to see thelevel of items they entrust to us. Our models wore over$10,000 worth of fine jewelry, hand-picked by SalDeLaFuente of Gold Master Jewelers and Josh. BobbyBuentello of Men's Wearhouse gave his expertise tohelp Josh pick out Prince's white suit by Sean John, bowtie by Daniel Cremieur, shirt by Modena and shoes byBelvedere. Julian Gold loaned us tons of top-shelf optionsas usual. Eunice is seen on the cover wearing a white lace dress by Alberto Makaii. Inaddition to the eye-popping Giovani Seal ring from Gold Master, she's wearing jewelry fromDillard's Crystal Collection and shoes by Jessica Simpson. The pristine Louis Vuitton luggage, complete with dog carrier, was loaned to us by Laurie Mintz as well as Josh and Greg Ybarra.Eunice's alternate dress for the airplane shoot (the vibrant one seen above) was by Missoni. For our shoot inside Corpus Christi International terminal, Sam Luna wore a Ralph Laurenblue seersucker suit, Tommy Hilfiger tie, Calvin Klein shirt and blue shoes by Belvedere.ElashaPilgrim wore a pink and white striped dress by KateSpade, blue Guess shoes and a white hat by San Diego HatCompany. Eunice wore a dress by Phoebe Couture andhat by Christina Moore. Prince sported a Calvin Kleinlinen suit, Euro Wind Nott tie, shirt by Joseph N Tieseand shoes by Stacy Adams. Sam's outfit with the privateplane consisted of a suit by Calvin Klein, bow tie byPronto Uomo, shirt by Joseph N Fiese, and shoes by StacyAdams. He's also wearing cuff links by Pronto Uomo.Elasha's white dress was by BCBG and her long dress wasby Mignon. Jewelry was by Gold Master and Cezanne.Other assistants on the shoot were Janessa Cano, shooting all the behind-the-scenes photos, as wellas Derrick Perrin from Big Box Pro shooting thebehind-the-scenes video which is available on ourweb site. Cosmetology educator and stylist, MarcosYbarbo was also on hand to help out in many ways.Visit www.fonziemunozphotography.com, www.bigboxpro.com and www.theonebrideguide.com formore info about our cover contributors and a behindthe scenes video by Big Box Pro.
