Instructor'sRequirementsAll students must be ready for class promptly at start of class 1301-0071 at 11am &1301-0069 at 3:30 pm. All students must participate in all class discussions. Allelectronic devices are to be turned OFF prior to the start of class.AttendanceAttendance is mandatory for this class. An individual student record of attendance willbe logged at the beginning of each class. Failure to attend class will be cause to lowerthe overall grade of the offending student. 2 (two) absences, this includes all types ofabsences, regardless of cause, are granted each student, non-transferable, with noacademic disciplinary action taken. On the occasion of the 3rd (third) absence theoverall final grade, will be lowered 2(two full points per extra day off) Example: astudent whose classwork warrants a final grade of 92% but has 5 absences will earn a“B”(92%-6%=86%)Within the four allowable absences, if the student fails to turn in an assignment ormisses a quiz or exam due to the absence, that of course will adversely affect thestudent’s grade. The student is responsible for all information given during the lectures, even ifthe student is absent. Failure to be aware of an assignment or date of a quiz issolely the responsibility of the student.TardinessTardiness is also greatly discouraged for this course. Tardiness includes but is notlimited to, arriving late to class, taking early, prolonged breaks, and leaving class early.Tardies are one-half of an absence. Absences and Tardies are cumulative and arecounted together.BEING LATE MORE THAN 15MIN. IS CONSIDERED A FULL ABSENCE. LIKEWISELEAVING CLASS MORE THAN 15MIN PRIOR TO THE END OF CLASS ISCONSIDERED A FULL ABSENCE.The student is expected to remain in his or her seat throughout the entire duration ofthe class. Failure to do so will result in both deductions in attendance and participationgrades.Tardiness for Tests/Exams and Assignments due dates are extremely severe. Itincludes but is not limited to 10 point deduction for being late and 1 point perminute for the lateness. Each student is responsible for keeping their own accurate attendance record andshould realize when they are approaching academic disciplinary action: pointdeductions. The tardy student is solely responsible for making sure the Instructor knows thestudent was late (by informing the instructor after class.) Otherwise, the studentrisks a Full Absence to be counted.Additionally if you are late to class, you are expected to enter the classroom quietly anddiscretely, and includes opening and shutting the door, zipping & unzipping backpacks, rustling through paper, etc.Attendance, drops are solely the responsibility of the Student.
