Garage sales can not be heldlonger than 3 days. You do not need a permitto have a sale, but you are restricted to twosales a year.Recycle Program: Residential curb siderecycling is collected every month. Residentsnorth <strong>of</strong> the Kalamazoo River or East <strong>of</strong> MainStreet are picked up on the first Thursday.Residents south <strong>of</strong> the Kalamazoo River andwest <strong>of</strong> Main Street are picked up on the thirdThursday. Also available are drop<strong>of</strong>f sites at the Miller Road Transfer Station,269-388-3346 or the 100th Street Landfill,616-877-4192.Vehicles or Equipment for sale mustremain in the garage, rear yard or driveway.They are NOT allowed in the front yard.Recreational equipment such as campers,trailers, boats and snowmobiles must bestored in the rear yard or in the drivewaybehind the front <strong>of</strong> the house; must be securedto prevent access by children; must be in goodcondition; and must have a current licenseor registration. They cannot be connectedto electric, water, gas or sewer, or used forliving purposes. Boats stored outside must becovered.Inoperative equipment, including vehiclesand boats, must be garaged.Signs: Private or political signs are notallowed in any road right-<strong>of</strong>-way, includingpower poles. Put signs on a stake on privateproperty only.<strong>City</strong> Ordinances:Access all <strong>City</strong> Ordinances at www.plainwell.orgBicycles may not be ridden on sidewalksin the 100 and 200 blocks downtown. Walkbikes on the board walk. Bicycles may beridden on the roadway if ridden with the flow<strong>of</strong> traffic and all the traffic signs/signals areobeyed. Pedestrians walk or run against theflow <strong>of</strong> traffic.Skateboards, skates and rollerblades arenot allowed on downtown sidewalks but canbe used on sidewalks in the rest <strong>of</strong> the city.State law prohibits their use on the street.Curbside Trash Pickup DatesSpring pickup will be the week <strong>of</strong> May 14, 2012. Everything must be curbside by Sunday, May 13, 2012. Fall pickup will be the week <strong>of</strong>October 15, 2012. Everything must be curb side by Sunday, October 14, 2012.
