Counsellor’s Corner
The grade 7’s were given their grade 8 registration
forms last week. Please be sure to fill the
registration form out and return it to the school to
enable your child to get their preferred choices for
next year.
The grade 9 registration for MHHS took place on
March 22 nd during the morning classes for the grade
8’s. The administrators and counsellors from
MHHS explained the programs and options
available to the students. It is very important to
complete these registration forms and return them
as soon as possible to MHHS if you have not
already returned them.
The 3 rd Report Card will be issued on April 23 rd .
Please ensure your child has all of their assignments
handed in before any due dates. Incomplete
assignments are a major reason for student report
card marks to be lower than expected.
TRANSITION 9 PROGRAM AT MHHS: There
will be an information meeting at MHHS on
Tuesday, May 4 th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 615, for any
parents interested in the program. This program is
for students who are having difficulty with the
regular grade 8 curriculum and whose parents feel
their child may benefit from an alternative program
other than the regular grade 9. Please contact Mrs.

April 14th is Pink Shirt Day at AMS! Come to
school in your pinkest shirt and take a stand against
Bullying! Everybody is
affected by bullying
whether or not you are a
target, a bystander or a
bully. Let's show that

MyPlace at Alexandra is pleased to introduce Gail
Wist, one of our Community Health Nurses, to the
school on April 19 th , May 10 th and May 31 st . She is
available to students who have a health-related issue
that they need help with.
Are you interested in learning first aid or child care
skills that can help you get a job babysitting and
make extra money? MyPlace is organizing a
Babysitter's Course on June 11 th . The cost is $20
per person and there are only 15 spots available.

Parents, come out and learn more about the new
parenting program to assist you in your journey
through the tricky maze of parenthood. Angela
Dunn, Child and Family Development Worker from
the McMann ParentLink Centre, will be presenting
a seminar on the Triple P Parenting Series. Come
out and learn new skills and strategies that will help
you feel like you are the parent you want to be. To
learn more about this session, please contact us at
the MyPlace office.
For those students, teachers and parents who
completed our annual survey, we just want to say
thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts
and input. As this project moves into its third year
of funding and works toward a sustainable future,
we look forward to the support of the students, staff
and community so we can continue to provide
services to our students and help them to be healthy,
strong and able community members in the future!
