OurPeanutLeagueBall TeamNot to Brag but,They’re AwesomeOur LaRue County Peanut League Dodgerssponsored by Zabel EnvironmentalTechnology TM started the 1998 season byplaying the Mets in a rematch of last season'sTournament Championship game. TheDodgers came away victorious, giving the Metstheir only loss of the regular season. The teamfinished the regular season with an 8 - 0 recordin the American Division and a perfect 13 - 0record in League play. They also traveled toa neighboring county to participate in the annualFlaherty Community Park InvitationalTournament. Along the tournament trail, theyfaced three other undefeated teams. They gavethe Vine Grove White Sox their 1st and 2ndlosses of the season and the Flaherty Cardinalstheir 1st loss of the season before eventuallylosing twice to the White Mills Wildcats.The Dodgers returned home to goundefeated in their own league tournamentthus making a record setting third straightappearance in the championship game andcoming away with their second straighttournament championship. And yes, just aspromised, Coach Theo Terry lost his mustacheagain.The Dodgers finishedthe season with a recordof 20 Wins and 2Losses. They now havea three year record of 38- 8. Next year, if they goundefeated again inleague play and win athird consecutivetournamentchampionship, maybethey will get to shaveCoach Terry's head!4
