Have sufficient knowledge of the basic pr<strong>in</strong>ciples of ultrasound,CT, MRI and radionuclide imag<strong>in</strong>g to be able to understand thenature of the radiation/electromagnetic/ sounds waves used <strong>in</strong>these techniques and to understand <strong>in</strong> outl<strong>in</strong>e the performanceof imag<strong>in</strong>g equipment as well as the means by which therelevant images are created.6. Know sufficient basic radiography to demonstrate anunderstand<strong>in</strong>g of the standard radiographic projections relat<strong>in</strong>gto the regions outl<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> the radiological anatomy syllabus, andto be able to give practical advice on improv<strong>in</strong>g the quality of theimage obta<strong>in</strong>ed.7. Have a knowledge of the techniques, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the materials(e.g. contrast agents, drugs) and equipment (e.g. catheters,needles) used <strong>in</strong> those techniques which a candidate isexpected to have carried out personally and on his/her owndur<strong>in</strong>g the first 6 months of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Radiology. Thesetechniques are listed <strong>in</strong> the syllabus under Section 1.2.8.
