INTERMEDIATE MODULETo ensure better training, the CPSP introduced an Intermediatemodule examination in several disciplines in 2001. This mid-trainingassessment strengthens the monitoring and in-training assessmentsystems by providing trainees with an estimate of mid-trainingcompetence. It also serves as a diagnostic tool for trainees andsupervisors, provides a curricular link between basic and advancedtraining, and an opportunity for sampling a wider domain ofknowledge and skills.Vide Notifications No. 6-1 / Exam-04 / CPS / 1438 S and R, dated July21, 2004, the Intermediate Module (IMM) examination is mandatoryeligibility requirement for all specified FCPS II examination as fromSeptember 2007. Trainees who passed FCPS I in 2001 and onwardsare required to complete two years training in Diagnostic Radiology,and take the Intermediate Module (IMM) examination.Even it they do not appear in the IMM examination, the trainees arepermitted to continue their training in the chosen discipline but mustpass the IMM examination prior to taking the final FCPS IIexamination.CPSP Intermediate Module in Diagnostic Radiology 20103
TRAINING ANDEXAMINATIONGENERAL REGULATIONSCandidate will be admitted to the examination in the name (surnameand other names) as given in the MBBS degree. CPSP will notentertain any application for change of name on the basis of marriage/divorce / deed.CPSP Intermediate Module in Diagnostic Radiology 2010REGISTRATION AND SUPERVISIONAll training must be supervised, and trainees are required to register withthe Research and Training Monitoring Cell (RTMC) within 30 days ofstarting their training for Intermediate Module. In case of delay inregistration, the start of training shall be considered from the date ofreceipt of application by the RTMC. Registration forms are available fromRTMC and at the Regional Centers. They can also be downloaded fromthe CPSP Website: www.cpsp.edu.pk. Training is compulsorilymonitored by an approved supervisor who is a CPSP fellow or aspecialist with relevant postgraduate qualifications and experienceregistered with the RTMC.APPROVED TRAINING CENTRESTraining must be undertaken in units, departments and institutionsapproved by the College. A current list of approved institutions isavailable from the College and its Regional Centres as well as on theCollege website: www.cpsp.edu.pkDURATIONThe duration of training for the Intermediate Module (IMM) is twoyears; the Intermediate Module examination is taken oncompletion of the two years training.4
