Join Norwalk’s Junior Lifeguard Program and learnwhat it takes to be part of a fun outdoor, exciting workplace.All participants must have passed an American Red Cross Level 4 Class.Junior Lifeguards will be introduced to CPR, First Aide, and Life Savingskills to become a future lifeguard and or swim Instructor. The JuniorLifeguard program will provide great learning experiences at theNorwalk Aquatic Pavilion, as well as enjoy multiple excursions to otheraquatic atmospheres. Participants will be required to provide volunteerservice during swim lessons and recreational swim.All participants must attend a Mandatory Orientation & Swim Test witha parent or guardian on Saturday June 18, 2010 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.at the Norwalk Aquatic Pavilion. The orientation and swim test will befollowed by a brief meet and greet with the Junior Lifeguard Staff. Formore information, please call 929-5566.Payment of Fees: The security deposit ($250) is due in full at time ofapplication. Rental fees must be paid 30 days prior to the reservation.Set-up Fees: Applicant may decorate/set-up one hour in advance onthe day of the reservation for a $25 fee.Security Deposit Refund: Please allow four to six weeks followingyour reservation for refund to arrive by mail.Barbeque Rental: For safety purposes, groups wishing to barbequemust use City of Norwalk owned and maintained equipment. Team members will learn the basic competitive skills and train to competein swim meets against other area swim teams throughout the Summer. The team is divided into different levelsfor practice. Group assignment is based on the swimmers’ maturity level, commitment to training, experience andparticipation in swim meets. Parental support is essential to the program’s success. Children should be able to swimfront crawl 50 yards continuously and have a basic knowledge of the competitive strokes at time of registration. The monthly fee is due at thebeginning of each month.
