The countryside to the west, south and east of Graz is made
up of fertile, rolling hills. From time immemorial, fruit has been
planted here and vegetables harvested, wine has been pressed,
schnapps distilled and pumpkin-seed oil has been extracted.
Here in the “Garden of Austria” you will find a huge number of
small-scale farms: big agribusiness has never managed to gain
a foothold. These farmers have long since recognised the value
of their specialities: they focus on quality alone, with no compromises.
Their outstanding produce bears comparison with any of
the best, at an international level. And the crops grown in these
gardens and fields, pastures and vineyards are also served in the
restaurants, taverns and buschenschanks of the region. Here in
