Local names: Kupres; Kupreshka Pramenka<br />

Belongs also to <strong>the</strong> Bosnian Mountain Pramenka Sheep (Bosansko-<br />

Hercegovacka). Short summer <strong>and</strong> long cold winter lead to this medium<br />

size breed with long coarse open fibred fleece. Transhumant management.<br />

Pivska<br />

Local names: Jezero-Pivska; Piva; Durmitorska<br />

Is <strong>the</strong> most important strain <strong>of</strong> Pramenka in Montenegro today. The animals<br />

are adapted to cold mountain conditions. It is named after <strong>the</strong> Piva<br />

mountains in <strong>the</strong> north <strong>of</strong> Montenegro <strong>and</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>rn Herzegovina.<br />
