Bulgarian Steppe cattle are very well adapted to <strong>the</strong> environment in which <strong>the</strong>y have been bred<br />

<strong>for</strong> years. The breed is distinguished by strong body con<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>and</strong> especially strong legs<br />

that are well adapted to <strong>the</strong> long stay on <strong>the</strong> mountain pastures. Moreover, <strong>the</strong> breed is very vital<br />

<strong>and</strong> resistant to diseases. In order to improve <strong>the</strong> productivity, this breed has been recently<br />

crossed with o<strong>the</strong>r breeds <strong>and</strong> has <strong>the</strong>re<strong>for</strong>e become almost extinct.<br />
